German National Tourist Board

This photography service covered an event of the German National Tourist Board, held in Milan on an autumn day and curated by corporate event photographer Alessandro Della Savia. Representatives from the most important tourist-oriented regions of Germany met with some of the major Italian tour operators, showcasing the natural and historical-artistic wonders of Germany as well as the strengths of organizing tourist stays in Germany.

Unfortunately, anti-contagion rules imposed, as is now customary, strict social distancing, however the atmosphere was still very cheerful and cordial and my commitment was to try to convey the cheerfulness of the day despite the people being all distanced.

Photographing people interacting at a distance, and mostly wearing masks is the challenge that, as a photographer, I am currently called upon to do, and that I find decidedly stimulating: not being able to see and photograph people’s smiles, the effort is aimed at capturing interactions between subjects through body language.
